MDA paramedic Oren Benita was awoken to the sound of sirens, falling rockets, and gunfire outside his home in Kibbutz Mefalsim on October 7. Because of the active gunfire, Benita was unable to leave the house, but that didn\u2019t stop him from saving lives that day. Kibbutz security brought wounded members of the Mefalsim community to be treated right in Benita\u2019s living room.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile I was treating injured neighbors, soldiers continued fighting outside,\u201d said Benita. \u201cSome even climbed onto the roof of my house and fought from the balcony.\u201d<\/p>\n

After several hours, Benita was able to bring the wounded kibbutzniks and soldiers to the hospital in an MDA mobile intensive care unit for further treatment.<\/p>\n
