Dudu Alfasi, MDA senior EMT and a student on the paramedic course, is the interim volunteer regional manager. He lives in Shlomi and his family was evacuated to Jerusalem. He tells about the new reality in shadow of the war:<\/p>\n
“Shlomi is an evacuated town. The only ones who are there are essential workers. The MDA station in the town is working 24\/7 with an ambulance activated by MDA teams and MDA’s reserve unit. We get at least three rocket strikes a day and it is very uneasy. The threat is clearly felt. We provide a medical response also to all the villages and towns near Shlomi, so MDA reinforced the ambulance fleet.”<\/p>\n
The rocket strikes in the town, the sirens and the explosion noises have unfortunately become part of our routine. The station itself has also been moved to a “golden age club” in the city with heightened protection.<\/p>\n
“We are 300 percent staffing levels and are aware of the dangers and the challenges. We’re keeping high morale and try to keep our daily routine as much as possible, even in the reality of war. I continue participating in the paramedics course in order to finish training and to give a better response to the citizens, and I will continue defending my town.”<\/p>\n
