Michel was murdered on October 7, 2023, at 59. He has been an MDA volunteer with the Tzohar-Ofakim team since 2015. On the morning of October 7, Michel left his home to rescue his 4-year-old granddaughter, who was staying at the Re’im base with her father, who served in the Gaza division. Several minutes later, contact with him was lost. His family witnessed a video published by Hamas terrorists featuring his driver’s license, MDA volunteer cards, and additional certificates. For weeks, Michel was considered missing before finally being declared abducted to Gaza. His body was recovered by the security forces, and he was buried in the Giva’t Tzion cemetery in Ashkelon, accompanied by his family and friends.
